In 2024, the Johnny Appleseed Historic Byway will celebrate the 250th birthday of John “Appleseed” Chapman with a series of events that will highlight the attractions and activities that the byway offers to travelers. These include the Loudonville log cabin, Malabar Farm State Park, local parks, South Park’s Pioneer Log Cabin, Blacksmith, Woodworking Cabins, and the Mansfield Blockhouse, among others.

Traveling Exhibit Locations

The Johnny Appleseed Traveling Exhibit coincides with Arbor Day apple tree planting, and runs until March 2025, marking the anniversary of his death.  The exhibit showcases Johnny Appleseed’s love of nature and apples, his contributions to the development of the region, and his enduring influence on American culture and folklore.  Find the exhibit at these events!
