The Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) returns to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for their 53rd National Championship. The SCCA National Championship Runoffs, with presenting sponsor Garmin VIRB, runs September 19-25, 2016. This is the first time the Runoffs have been held at Mid-Ohio since 2005 (1994-2005) and we are excited for the chance to showcase our area’s legendary hospitality to over 4,000 drivers, crews, volunteers, families, and fans again. Speedway comes to life Sunday
After five years of idling, the short track is ready to be put into gear. Spitzer Motor Speedway, formerly Mansfield Motorsports Park, will host its first racing event since July 2010 when it reopens Sunday afternoon. Gates open at noon Sunday, with hot laps at 1 p.m., qualifying at 3 p.m. and racing at 4:30 p.m. Fans will be treated to some of the fastest short track cars on the planet when the Midwest Supermodified Association headlines the card with a 30-lap feature. Tickets for the 2015 race season at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, one of North America’s most competitive race tracks, will go on sale February 2 at 10 a.m. ET. Four spectator events highlight the historic track’s 2015 season schedule, with marquee events The Honda Indy 200 returning July 31-August 2 and the Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200 returning August 14-15. MANSFIELD – It took Kevin Ruic five years, but the longtime motor sports showman will finally promote events at Mansfield Motorsports Park.
