Lee Tasseff Honored with Ohio Tourism Industry’s Highest Award
Lee Tasseff was recognized with the state’s highest tourism industry honor, the Paul Sherlock Award in Tourism, during the Ohio Conference on Tourism, Nov. 16. The president of the Mansfield/Richland County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Tasseff was presented the peer award at the Hilton Columbus/Polaris. Tasseff was hired as executive director, now president, of the Mansfield/Richland County Convention and Visitors Bureau in 1990. He’s held numerous leadership roles at the local, regional and state level, including president of the Ohio Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus and the Ohio Travel Association. On a visit to see my parents about 20 years ago, they had The Shawshank Redemption playing on their television. I hadn’t even heard of the movie. Forrest Gump was the big deal at the time. As I stood at my parent’s door watching this movie, never even sitting down, Shawshank Redemption became my favorite instantly. This movie had it all to me, the music, cast of characters, plot and great friendship, to me these things make the movie real. Little did I realize that I’d propose to my girlfriend as we traveled The Shawshank Trail in Mansfield, Ohio....
NASA Super Guppy Arrives at Mansfield Lahm
Mayor Tim Theaker announced NASA’s Super Guppy will make its first appearance in Mansfield, Ohio on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the Mansfield Lahm Airport. The aircraft will be stationed in a location where the general public can view the plane following its arrival. Spectators are asked to enter the viewing area through the Airport Terminal Building.
