Winter Activities Await Visitors to Mansfield, Ohio

With winter setting into the Midwest, and snowy days being more common, Mansfield, OH is the ideal place for travelers to have fun with friends and family in a variety of outdoor winter activities.

Ideal snowmaking conditions and plenty of natural snow means skiers and snowboarders are raving about Snow Trails. Evening Glow Tubing is back by popular demand. Tubing lanes are illuminated with bright, multicolor LED lights, letting visitors slide-down through an array of color in an unmatched Instagram-worthy experience. Glow Tubing is offered beginning at 6 PM each night the Tubing Park is open Thursday through Sunday. Reservations are required online and become available on Mondays at 11 AM through the following two weeks.

Loved by downhill skiers and snowboarders alike, Snow Trails features a mix of beginner to advanced slopes. The Resort offers 19 total trails with the addition of Outer Limits and The Chute this season and is known for Timberline trail – “Longest Trail in Ohio.” The Vertical Descent Snow Tubing Park offers the “Longest Tubing Lanes in Ohio.” Steeped in tradition, this locally owned ski resort is the only privately-owned resort in Ohio, and has been under the same management since it opened in 1961. Much of that tradition comes alive for visitors in special events that take place throughout the season, including a Mid-Season Party Jan. 25th, featuring an outdoor snow bar and terrain park special feature with DJ, live band in the main Ski Lodge and fireworks over the snow. A reunion for many comes later in the season with Snow Trails 59th Annual Ski Carnival Feb. 22nd & 23rd.

Cross country skiers in search of a challenge are invited to explore the adventurous hills at Malabar Farm State Park. While travelers must bring their own skis, miles of ungroomed trails are outlined in a free map available at the park visitor’s center.
