Richland B & O Trail
Explore one of Ohio’s best leisure trails! Spanning 18.4 miles, the Richland B&O Trail is popular with residents and visitors alike. The paved trail runs along the former Baltimore & Ohio railway and is perfect for both short trips and longer outings.
Travel as many miles as you wish at your own pace and whatever direction you choose.
“Rather than merely rolling past communities, the B&O Trail invites discovery all along the way — that’s where the real fun begins!”
No matter how you choose to travel the Trail, some of the best parts are the opportunities to hop on and off to explore. While winding through scenic countryside and crossing rivers, the Trail connects Mansfield, Lexington, Bellville, Butler and one of the stunningly beautiful attractions in Kingwood Center Gardens. There are places for quite lunches, enjoying ice cream, shopping and even sipping wine at a popular inn.
There are 12 parking areas along the trail, ensuring easy and convenient access. It is handicapped accessible and bike rentals and repairs are available at Y-Not Cycling & Fitness in Lexington.
Only Class 1 and 2 e-bikes are permitted on the trail. Class 3 e-bikes are not due to their top speed. Note: there are no charging stations along the trail so make sure to bring the bike fully charged!
Did you know that the Bellville, Butler, and Lexington Branches of the library offer a variety of bikes for you to check out and ride on the bike trail with a valid MRCPL library card? Check out this short video on how easy it is to rent HERE.
