The Pearl Conard Gallery at Ohio State Mansfield is proud to present Written in Oya: Entangled Stories, an exhibition by Hale Ekinci. Ekinci is a Chicago-based interdisciplinary artist with strong ties to her Turkish heritage. She received her MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts & Media at Columbia College Chicago and is currently an Associate Professor of Art & Design at North Central College. Focusing on personal history, cultural identity, gender politics, and craft traditions, her works vary from videos and fiber installation to embroidery paintings embellished with vibrant colors, patterns, and autobiographical relics.

Ekinci’s exhibition will run Tuesday, October 15 – Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at the Pearl Conard Art Gallery (Room 145 Ovalwood Hall, 1760 University Drive, Mansfield, OH 44906). The Gallery will host a free, public reception on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 from 12:35 – 1:30 pm.
