Tickets on sale February 2 for Mid-Ohio’s 54th season of racing

LEXINGTON, OH, January 30, 2015 — Tickets for the 2015 race season at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, one of North America’s most competitive race tracks, will go on sale February 2 at 10 a.m. ET. Four spectator events highlight the historic track’s 2015 season schedule, with marquee events The Honda Indy 200 returning July 31-August 2 and the Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200 returning August 14-15.

The 2015 race season kicks-off with the Mid-Ohio Vintage Grand Prix, June 25-28. Mid-Ohio holds a special place on the schedule for the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA), race fans have enjoyed watching the premier vintage racing series take to the track since 1981.

“Our Vintage Grand Prix is a great way to kick off our season of racing at Mid-Ohio,” said Craig Rust, President of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. “The event celebrates the history and heritage of both Mid-Ohio and racing. With over 250 vintage race cars taking to the track that weekend, it is the perfect way to get things started at the track.”

Two-wheelers will take over Mid-Ohio for a celebration of vintage motorcycles with AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, taking place July 10-12. The weekend will feature North America’s largest motorcycle swap meet and will pay homage to classic motorcycles of all makes and styles while honoring the riders who made them famous.

The track’s two largest events, The Honda Indy 200 and the Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200, remain in their familiar August dates. The Verizon IndyCar Series will headline the July 31-August 2 weekend with Scott Dixon looking to defend his memorable 2014 last-to-first win. Later that month, the NASCAR Xfinity Series will return for its third year August 14-15 for the Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200. Last year rookie driver Chris Buescher took home his first win with the series, driving his No. 60 Mustang in honor of Nationwide Children’s Hospital Patient Champion Luke.
