Shawshank fans can rejoice, the Ohio State Reformatory will remain open for abbreviated tours September 4 through September 27. For 7 days a week from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Take a self-guided tour of the “Haunted Halls of OSR” for the special price of $6! Come visit the historic Ohio State Reformatory and see long-ago history, traces of Hollywood magic, and maybe even evidence of the otherworldly. For the most daring, check out an exclusive behind-the-scenes sneak peek of the OSR Halloween event “Escape from Blood Prison.”
Please note, due to Blood Prison, this tour does not cover all the areas covered on the full self-guided tour. You will still be able to see the administrative areas, residential quarters, chapel, one tier of the east cell block, and the central guard room. The museum and gift shop will also be open during this time.
Still looking for the full experience? The Ohio State Reformatory will be open again for full self-guided tours every day from November 24 through December 17 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Check the website for any updated hours throughout the year.
