Balloon Glow Encounter at Ashland Freer Field

A Balloon Glow is when a hot air balloon is inflated at dusk, but does not take off and fly. As the sky becomes darker, the pilot will ignite the propane burner to make the balloon light up like a huge light bulb or a Chinese lantern. The propane burner is ignited periodically keeping the balloon inflated with hot air. During this time the balloons will sway and light up as they are synchronized to music.
In conjunction with this free event, the Ashland BalloonFest will offer an exclusive opportunity to purchase Glow Encounter Packages. The package will allow you to experience the beauty and magic of the show. Packages will include:
