Live racing in north central Ohio draws closer by the minute! For those fans counting down the days, here’s a recap of the area’s race schedules. Remember, there are two tracks for the 2016 with Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington and the oval up north at the Spitzer Motor Speedway.
The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course continues to offer the highest caliber of racing. Situated in the rolling hills near Mansfield, the track draws big crowds of excited fans year after year. Returning to the track this spring is Tough Mudder Ohio. The 10-12 mile obstacle course event showcased the track to non-race fans last year and hopes to secure new fans again May 7 & 8. The race season returns with favorites like the Mid-Ohio Vintage Grand Prix, AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, The Honda Indy 200, and NASCAR Xfinity Mid-Ohio 200. Finishing out the season is the long-awaited return of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) in September.

Expand your race season with even more options at Spitzer Motor Speedway at State Route 13 and Crall Road, just north of downtown Mansfield. The track offers a variety of racing from Mini Stocks to Sprints, Top Speed Modifieds, and Outlaw Mini Stocks. In addition to racing, the facility will host all kinds of events including concerts and live bull riding. You can’t beat the price, so give it a try this season.
