Destination Mansfield – Richland County staff members attended the Ohio Conference on Travel in Akron, October 30-November 2. They joined approximately 250 other travel industry leaders to discuss travel trends and opportunities, as well as to hear from national experts. Also attending were the Little Buckeye Children’s Museum and Malabar Farm State Park.
During the educational conference, Destination Mansfield – Richland County received a Citation of Excellence in the statewide RUBY Awards. The recognition was for their Motorsports Digital Marketing Campaign, which focused on capturing the attention of race fans at both motorsports facilities in town and introducing them to more attractions, lodging, dining, and RACE DEALS in the area to enhance their race experience. In addition, Little Buckeye Children’s Museum won two awards. Destination Mansfield – Richland County is proud of the accomplishments of Fred Boll and his team at Little Buckeye.
The Ohio Travel Association RUBY Awards recognize excellence in Ohio’s travel industry for efforts in advertising, marketing and public relations. RUBY Award stands for Recognizing Uncommon Brilliance (RUBY) Award and honors those who have found the most innovative ways to market their destination, experiences or services. Competition was strong this year with more than 194 entries in print-based, web-based and marketing campaign, advertisement and video categories. The awards are sponsored by Ohio Magazine.
