April Happenings

Although the weather continues to keep us guessing, Spring is really here in Mansfield, Ohio. The Destination Mansfield-Richland County calendar hops with events and activities.

The month’s big event is the highly anticipated Mohican Wildlife Weekend, featuring the theme Ohio’s Pollinators on April 28-30.  Get outdoors for workshops, hikes, and hands-on fun at 11 regional sites.

Early in April, head downtown Mansfield for the First Friday Shop Hop on April 7. Explore local restaurants and shops offering events, specials, and live entertainment to kick off the month.  Speaking of live entertainment,  Theatre lovers will delight with a powerful list of performances this month.  The Mansfield Playhouse presents How the Other Half Loves. The Renaissance Theatre has 6 shows coming this April! Including Youth Shrek, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, The Friends of Bob & Tom Show Comedy Tour, Hot Mess: A Lethal New Musical, and Arrival: A Tribute to ABBA!

April often brings indoor and outdoor projects and the North Central Ohio Home and Garden Show at the Historic Ohio State Reformatory may inspire you on April 7-9. If shopping sounds like a better plan, attend the Black Cat Primitives Gathered Treasures Show for antiques, unique art, and so much more. For the kids and collectors, Firelands Society of Model Railroaders presents The Model Train & Toy Show, a family-friendly event at the Richland County Fairgrounds all about having fun and learning the art of Model Railroading!

Art enthusiasts will enjoy both the Ohio State Mansfield Student Art Exhibition at the Pearl Conard Gallery (through April 9) and the Regional High School Art Exhibition at the Mansfield Art Center (through April 15).

Spring also means the Easter holiday for many.  Little Buckeye Children’s Museum kicks off with Holiday-themed crafts on April 13.
