Johnny Appleseed Monument & Apple Orchard

The Pioneer Village at South Park in Mansfield, Ohio, is a vibrant hub of history and community activity. Situated on 35 acres, the park features walking trails, a playground, open spaces, and a historical village operated by volunteers from the Richland Early American Center for History (R.E.A.C.H.).

The village showcases significant structures like the 1812 Blockhouse, the last of eleven built during the War of 1812 for protection, and the 1808 Petersburg Log Cabin. Blacksmith and woodworking shops add to the historical experience, while a pioneer homestead garden teaches visitors about traditional herb, fruit, and vegetable cultivation.
