Fantastic Final Friday Weekend

A jam-packed weekend is in store August 24-28 in Mansfield!

Military history buffs won’t want to miss the excitement as the AirPower History Tour soars into Mansfield Lahm, August 24-28 from 9:00 am-5:00 pm. WWII’s most impressive airplanes, Gunfighter, Diamond Lil, Fifi and others will get your blood racing with rides, photo ops and tours. The tour gives visitors a rare opportunity to view aircraft up close and to tour cockpits when the aircraft aren’t flying. Details and tickets are found at airpowersquadron.org/book.

Music fans will also love the wildly popular Final Friday Concert on August 26 in the Brickyard in the historic downtown Carrousel District. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy live music, pop-up shops and farm markets that boast the best of late summertime. There’s no better place to relax with friends on a gorgeous summer evening with some local craft beer and tasty food truck fare. The concert begins at 5:30 pm.

For lovers of historic aircraft – or just flying in general — Airport Day at Mansfield Lahm Regional Airport, Saturday, August 27 from 9:00 am-3:00 pm, offers a chance to experience all that’s new at Airport. Kids who’ve never flown before will get hooked on flying with free Eagle Flights. Skilled pilots share their passion and knowledge before taking off in a small plane, letting kids experience the closest thing to soaring like an eagle as they climb into the clouds. Registration for these limited flights is recommended at yeday.org. A Food Truck Rally will host everything from BBQ to ice cream, while the KidsZone offers bounce houses and interactive inflatables.

The 25th anniversary Heart of the City Cruise-In rolls into downtown Mansfield on August 27 from 12:00 pm-8:00 pm from Central Park to Bowman Street. As one of Ohio’s largest car shows, the Cruise-In features block after block of vintage cars, trucks, and vans, along with modern stunners, competitions with trophies, a 50/50 raffle, live music, and great food. The event closes with a concert by 1970s bubblegum-rock band Ohio Express.
