MOO gets local with Everyman
We’ve brought you works by the great classical opera composers– Puccini, Verdi, Schubert (to name a few)– we are now honored to bring you music from a local composer, Rick Sowash!
A graduate of Lexington High School and a former Richland County Commissioner, Rick Sowash’s classical music has been performed around the country–including a world premiere at Carnegie Hall–is featured on radio stations all over the U.S., and comprises a film score of the Ohio Bicentennial Commission’s documentary, Ohio: 200 Years. Sowash also made his mark on Richland County by naming the Renaissance Theatre and serving as its founding Executive Director. READ MORE HERE!
Based on a medieval play, Everyman tells the story of a rich man who meets Death and laments over his life choices. This short piece, accompanied by a string quartet and piano, will be performed in addition to other works by Sowash. Mid-Ohio Opera fans and Sowash fans will have three opportunities to hear this concert:
