The History of Malabar Farm
June 3 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Join author Tom Bachelder and Malabar Farm Park Naturalist Mark Sommer as they share the story of Richland County’s Pulitzer Prize winning novelist Louis Bromfield. Hear about:
– His early years in Mansfield
– His experiences in World War I driving an ambulance in France
– His life in France during the 1920s and 30s
– His creation of Malabar Farm, now Malabar Farm State Park.
Both Tom and Mark are retired Shelby City School teachers. Tom re-retired from Malabar Farm as a Park Naturalist and is now part of the Malabar Farm Foundation. He has written several books related to the life of Louis Bromfield. Mark is also a tour guide of Bromfield’s Big House and farm property.
