“It’s a Strange Thing Mr. King”: Examining Stephen King’s Influence in the Netflix Hit Stranger Things

In many ways watching the Netflix hit Strangers Things is like watching a “Best of Stephen King” montage that just happens to have a stellar storyline and an even more amazing cast. Stephen King, himself, has commented on both his love of the show and on his influence within it. This presentation will examine the many ways Stranger Things pays homage to the King of horror and will explore where it tends to part ways.
