Intro to Metalsmithing ” Formed Metal Pendants” at the Mansfield Art Center

This is an introductory metalsmithing and jewelry making class.
Using copper, you will design and make a pendant. Metal will be cut, edges smoothed with files and then shaped. Fold forming and metal shaping techniques, including dapping blocks will be used to form the basis of your piece. When completed, liver of sulfur, borax wash or a torch can be used to add color to your finished piece.
Beads or adornments to coordinate with your piece can be brought into the second class. Demonstrations with be given all along the class to help each and everyone’s project.
