Festive Forever Cookies at the Mansfield Art Center

In this class students will be using cookie cutters, and cookie texture plates to create permeant sweet treats! These make wonderful decorations without ever losing their freshness.  By adding a simple hole they can become ornaments or even garland when strung together. You will create multiple cookies during the class (a maximum of six cookies), and you can even create cookies using simple shapes and play with the texture plates.  The decision is yours!

These “cookies” are decorated using underglazes, or washes of underglaze to expose even more of the dough colored claybody.  These pieces can be left without a clear glaze to create a more realistic cookie-like appearance, or made shiny with said glaze.
