Book Talk- The Witch of Mansfield

Book: “The Witch of Mansfield: The Tetched Life of Phebe Wise”
The daughter of one of Mansfield’s founding fathers, Phebe became the target of robbers and an obsessed stalker, situations which culminated in startling violence. She emerged, a hypnotic and strange survivor. A young cousin, Louis Bromfield, was deeply impacted by her and often visited Phebe in his writing, contributing to his own fame. Now, it’s time for Phebe to speak for herself.
Author and historian Mark Sebastian Jordan examines the curious life and legends of Phebe Wise. He includes historical documentation, photos, and eyewitness accounts of her life.
Copies of his book will be available for purchase, as well as for borrowing from the Bromfield Library. Light refreshments will be provided.
