Nearly twenty years ago Mansfield, Ohio hosted the cast and crew of The Shawshank Redemption and now the town is getting ready for that big anniversary with a new movie location tour.
In honor of the movie that made it famous, Mansfield has created The Shawshank Trail, a “drive-it-yourself” tour of several locations used in the movie, like the “Shawshank Oak Tree” and the county courthouse.
The tour map can be downloaded for free at MansfieldTourism.com.
You can also visit one of the movie’s other locations, the Mansfield Reformatory, during their Haunted Overnight events where guests can pig out and look for ghosts while roaming the same halls that Andy and Red walk through in the movie. Their next event takes place this weekend. For more information, visit BumpInTheNight.net.
