MANSFIELD – The PGA Junior Series returns to Westbrook Country Club, host of the 2012 Ohio Mid-Amateur Championship. Players will face a lengthened Donald Ross design.
There will be 160 players from 16 states, Australia, Canada, and Thailand competing in the three-day 54-hole event, which begins Monday July 16th. The field is comprised of four divisions: a boys’ and girls’ 13-15 year-old division and a boys’ and girls’ 16-18 year-old division.
The boys’ 16-18 and overall girls’ division winner will each earn an exemption into the 37th Junior PGA Championship presented by Under Armour and Heritage Food Service Group, staged July 31 – Aug 3 at Sycamore Hills Golf Club in Fort Wayne, Ind. Each event is nationally ranked in the Golfweek/Titleist Performance Index and Junior Golf Scoreboard.
Westbrook will host an impressive field that includes last year’s PGA Junior Series Player of the Year in the boys’ 16-18 division, Michael Bernard of Huber Heights, Ohio.
