Sarah Daisy Barker Thomas Historical Marker Dedication

Save the Date | Sarah Daisy Barker Thomas Historical Marker Dedication
Join us as we dedicate a new Ohio Historical Marker honoring Sarah Daisy Barker Thomas and the Barker family, whose legacy of education, faith, music, civic leadership, and civil rights helped shape Mansfield for generations.
For nearly 150 years, the remarkable Barker family home stood at the corner of First and Wood Streets, serving as a gathering place for the community and a center for music education. Although the home is no longer standing, its story and the remarkable lives connected to it will continue to inspire future generations through this permanent historical marker.
Wednesday, August 12

Time: TBD

Corner of First & Wood Streets
The dedication will feature speakers representing the passions and institutions that shaped Sarah Daisy Barker Thomas’ life, including education (Mansfield City Schools), civil rights (Mansfield Branch NAACP), faith (First Congregational Church), and historic preservation.
We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate the Barker family’s enduring legacy and dedicate a permanent tribute that will ensure their story remains part of Mansfield’s history for generations to come.
Dedication co-hosts: Ohio Hisotry Connection, Richland County LandBank, Richland County Historical Society
