Pleasant Hill Hot Dog Weekend

Friday, July 10
10am-2pm     Pop-up Native Plant Sale –   Purchase native flowers or grasses for your yard! Choose from a variety of plants based on sun requirements and benefits. Plants are 2 for $5 or 5 for $10. Cash only. Meet at the Welcome Center. Cardinal flower, milkweed, hyssop, wild blue indigo, coneflower, and more!
4-5pm      Nature Center Open – Visit the Nature Room in the Welcome Center to learn about raptors.
5-7pm      Traveling Golf Cart – Look for the program golf cart passing out schedules.
8-9pm    Popcorn & Board Games – Play games and enjoy free popcorn, at the Welcome Center!
 
Saturday, July 11          Hot Dog Weekend w/ Hot Dog Eating Contest
9-11am        Nature Center Open – Visit the Nature Room in the Welcome Center to learn about raptors.
11:30am     Costume Contest – Put on your best hot dog costume and strut your stuff on the stage at Beach Hill. Prizes for top kid, adult, and pet. All canine participants must be friendly to humans and other pets.
12-1pm       Hot Dog Eating Contest – Be a part of the second annual Pleasant Hill Lake Hot Dog Eating Contest! For ages 18 and up only. First-place prize is a cooler! The contest will take place at the top of Beach Hill. Registration required at www.MWCD.org/tickets by July 10th.
2-3pm         Pet Pawprint Craft – Make a pawprint ornament with your pet at the Welcome Center deck!
4-6:30pm   Roast a Hot Dog – Roast your own hot dog at the Welcome Center campfire ring. Children must have adult supervisor. Dogs are invited to enjoy leftovers at 6:15-6:30pm.
7-8pm         Hot Dog Swim – All dogs should be friendly, kept on leash, and cleaned up after.
