Mansfield Symphony: Side×Side “New World Voices” (Featuring the Youth Orchestra)

Join the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra and the Mansfield Symphony Youth Orchestra for a memorable evening at the “Side×Side: New World Voices” concert, where music transcends generations, cultures, and communities. This collaborative performance highlights artistic growth and mentorship, featuring Youth Orchestra musicians alongside seasoned members of the Mansfield Symphony. The program opens with Valerie Coleman’s uplifting “Umoja: Anthem of Unity,” inspired by the theme of unity, followed by Aaron Copland’s “Billy the Kid Suite,” a musical narrative of the American frontier. The evening concludes with the beloved “Symphony No. 9, ‘From the New World'” by Antonín Dvořák, rich with emotion and inspired by the composer’s American experiences. Directed by Octavio Más-Arocas for the Symphony and Stephen Domka for the Youth Orchestra, this concert celebrates the next generation of artists while showcasing the profound impact of music in connecting and inspiring audiences. With over 55 musicians from the Mansfield area and a talented ensemble from the more than 10-county region of North Central Ohio, this concert promises to be a highlight of the season.
