For this installment of the Ghostlight Cabaret series, singer, actress, and songwriter Lisa Fishman returns to the Renaissance with Dating (And The Search For Love)—an original musical journey through the hilarious, frustrating, hopeful, and occasionally ridiculous search for true love.

Blending comedy with genuine heart, Lisa explores the trials and tribulations of romance through original songs that range from laugh-out-loud observations to touching reflections on vulnerability, connection, and falling in love. Along the way, her music moves through rock, jazz, folk, pop, and musical theatre.

Funny, candid, and delightfully irreverent, Dating (And The Search For Love) asks a question anyone who has ever ventured into the dating world can appreciate: Is finding true love really worth everything we put ourselves through to get there?

With just 80 seats, the Ghostlight Cabaret puts you remarkably close to the performer for a one-of-a-kind night at the Ren.

About Our Guest Artist

Singer, actress, songwriter and recording artist, Lisa Fishman, has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe – starring in Off-Broadway and Regional Musical Theater – including playing the role of Golde last year in The Renaissance Theatre’s production of “Fiddler on the Roof!”  Lisa also performs her own original music, sings and records with Klezmer bands (aka: Eastern European Jewish music sung in Yiddish) – including Chicago’s renowned Maxwell Street Klezmer Band, entertains children on television, works as a voiceover actress, and sings everything from Broadway, light opera, cabaret and jazz to pop, rock, folk, blues and heavy metal!  

Lisa recently played the roles of Yente the Matchmaker and Bobe Tsaytl (aka: Grandma Tzeitel) in the Off-Broadway hit, Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish, directed by Oscar and Tony winner, Joel Grey, and will be reprising her role of Bobe Tsaytl this coming spring at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles.  In voice over, Lisa can be heard as the role of Miss Dogma on the animated series, “God’s Gang,” she has provided English dubs for many Netflix films and series – including the leading role of Adina on the Netflix hit, “Rough Diamonds, and she also provided the voice for the dancing My Yiddishe Bubbie doll.  Lisa is so excited to be returning to the Renaissance for their Ghostlight Cabaret series, as she truly adores Artistic Director, Michael Thomas (who she worked with in Chicago MAAAAAANY moons ago), and the whole Renaissance crew!  More info on Lisa can be found at www.LisaFishman.com
