This month’s favorites include the Bellville Street Fair, The Fab Four & More Fest, Prairie Peddler Festival, Crowfest at the Mansfield Art Center and Ohio Heritage Days! Plus, a couple of creepy events pop into the calendar that are sure to offer up a few screams just in time for Halloween!

Don’t Miss These Annual Festivals and Fun Events!

Bellville’s “World’s” Street Fair (Sept. 10-13), a much anticipated community event, offers rides, fair food, live music, a tractor pull, Great Pumpkin contest, tractor pull, Fair Queen contest and so much more.

Four of Mansfield’s most popular events return to downtown Mansfield during The Fab Four & More Fest (Sept.20). This all-day extravaganza in the heart of the city will showcase four incredible events happening all on the same day.

Bring the kids to Touch a Truck at the Richland Carrousel Park, raise a glass at Oktoberfest in The Brickyard, and explore hidden spaces during the fall Secret City tour. The tour lets you peek behind the closed doors of Mansfield’s most historic buildings—a photographer’s dream.

Crowfest at the Mansfield Art Center kicks off on September 20th with food trucks, craft beer and an Artist’s Reception. It continues through October. Don’t miss your chance to pop in and view the crow-inspired artwork celebrating the cro migration to Mansfield and the forest behind the art center.

The Prairie Peddler Festival artisan event returns September 27 & 28. This outdoor marketplace features over 220 exhibitors peddling their wares in the scenic rolling hills of Butler. In addition to the vendors, you’ll find delicious food, horse-drawn wagon rides, kids’ activities and live music.

The 48th Annual Ohio Heritage Days (Sept. 27-28) partners with the “In the Spirit of Friends” Antique and Primitive Show at Malabar Farm State Park. This free event offers horse-drawn wagon rides, live music, Civil War and WW2 living history camps, food and live music.

Take Note!

Don’t miss the World-Famous Budweiser Clydesdales when they visit Mansfield (Sept. 10) and the Bellville Street Fair (Sept. 12)! See a single horse up close in Mansfield or the full 8-horse hitch in Bellville. Beloved since 1933, these iconic horses have appeared at fairs, festivals and sporting events.

Art, Eats & Theater!

Plan a date night with your special someone during the Eat Your Art Out event (Sept. 14) where Hudson and Essex and Prohibition at the Caverns partner with the Mansfield Arts Sector to present a unique setting where food and art collide in an experience that’s both educational and delicious.

Kelly Knowlton will share an evening of cabaret favorites, blending her love of performance, storytelling, and song at the Ghostlight Cabaret at the Renaissance Theatre (Sept. 5th). Enjoy dessert, drinks and live music in an intimate setting.

The Mansfield Youth Theatre brings Roald Dahl’s Matilda to life on the Renaissance stage (Sept. 12,13 & 14). This musical is a must-see for families and fans of the beloved story!

Moon Over Buffalo (Sept.5, 6, 12, 13 & 14) takes the stage at the Mansfield Playhouse, where fading 1950s stars George and Charlotte Hay get one last shot at stardom when Frank Capra comes to town. You’ll love this fast-paced comedy where everything that can go wrong, does!

The Mansfield Symphony offers Classical Mansfield, a free community concert, (Sept. 20) with more than 55 talented musicians for an extraordinary evening of symphonic music under the direction of Octavio Más-Arocas.

Local Haunts

Dare to enter J&J Field of Screams in Shelby, Ohio! Your night of terror starts with a haunted hayride and plunges into a 15-acre corn maze filled with eerie surprises. With 35–45 minutes of nonstop frights. Open on Friday & Saturday’s beginning September 20th.

The gates crack open September 26th for Haunted Speedway Nights at Mansfield Speedway! Step onto a once-abandoned racetrack, now a racing zombie wasteland packed with haunted houses, scare zones, and terrifying games.

Fall Family Fun

The area offers a ton of opportunities for families! Here are a few of the special events taking place at some of our family friendly attractions during the month of September.

Stop by Kingwood Center for the Free First Monday (Sept.1) and celebrate National Grandparent’s Day on Sept. 14 with free admission.

Visit Gorman Nature Center each Tuesday from 3:30-5 to learn how they care for their animals and participate in Animal Feeding Day.

Meet the resident vultures on Vulture Day at the Ohio Bird Sanctuary (Sept. 6th). Admission includes all special events.

Join Naturalist Alana for a Kid’s Geology Hike at Malabar Farm State Park (Sept. 14) and explore a small cave behind the visitor center. Don’t miss the barn dance (Sept. 27) that is fun for the entire family!

Shop Local

It’s that time of year when the growing season starts to wind down. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to support local businesses while you shop for fresh produce. The Icehouse Market Days is held at the Historic Blueprint Building (Sept. 14), while weekly markets are offered through The North End Farmers Market every Thursday from 4-7:00 p.m. at the NECIC Urban Farm and at the Bellville Farmer’s Market (Sept. 6, 13, 20, 27) and the Shelby Farmer’s Market on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

Live Music

You’ll find plenty of opportunities to listen to live music throughout the month. Some popular events include the Live@Lunch 2025 Summer Courtyard, Concerts in the Park in BellvilleLive Music at the Vault Vine Bar and more.

Don’t miss the Final Friday Concert series in The Brickyard (Sept.26). Set up your lawn chair and settle in to hear Abby and Cory, Lowe Band and TC & The Visitors. Refreshments will be onsite for purchase, but you can also grab a bite to eat at any of the local eateries located downtown.
