Mansfield OH

StoryWalks® encourage literacy, physical activity, and community connection in a fun and accessible way for children and adults to enjoy reading and the outdoors together. Partnering with organizations in Richland County to offer these unique learning and entertainment opportunities is another way the Mansfield Richland County Public Library can support the mission of ensuring a vibrant quality of life for our community. The stories will change seasonally, so visit regularly!

StoryWalk® was originally created in 2007 by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT, in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalks® can now be found in all 50 states of the U.S. and in 13 other countries.

Locations

Buckeye Imagination Museum – Downtown Mansfield
The Downtown Mansfield StoryWalk® is a partnership with Buckeye Imagination Museum, Altrusa International of Mansfield, and the Mansfield Richland County Public Library. The Story connects the Buckeye Imagination Museum at 175 W. Third St. to the Richland Carrousel Park at 75 N. Main St. Be sure to see all 20 stands along W. Third St. and Walnut St.

South Park
The South Park StoryWalk® is on the lower trail. This project is a collaboration with Mansfield City Parks Department and the Mansfield Richland County Public Library. South Park is located at 100 Brinkerhoff Ave., Mansfield.

Kingwood Center Gardens
The Storybook Trail can be found in Kingwood Center Gardens and is a partnership between Kingwood and the Mansfield Richland County Public Library. Kingwood Center Gardens is located at 50 N. Trimble Rd. *Admission is required.

Sterkel Park
The park features large playground areas for different age groups and abilities, shaded seating, water fountains, paved walkways, StoryWalk trail, pickleball courts, fitness equipment under the roof, a large outdoor pavilion, games tables, ping pong tables, benches, ADA & Family restrooms, picnic tables, a fenced dog park for small and large dogs, two (2) EV Level 2 Public Charging Ports, and free public WiFi hot spots. Sterkel Park is located at 790 Hollywood Lane, Mansfield.
