Ohio Heritage Tree Planting
Friday, May 29th, 2026
At Liberty Park 10:00am
As part of the America 250‑Ohio celebration, a white oak tree will be planted in each of Ohio’s 88 counties to honor our state’s role in the nation’s founding and to recognize the history of each planting site. These trees will help preserve local heritage while supporting long‑term environmental sustainability. The white oak was selected for its adaptability, disease resistance, and deep roots in Ohio’s natural landscape. Richland county choose a specific white oak variety best suited to its climate, sourced from a reputable Ohio nursery. As they grow, these trees will stand as lasting symbols of Ohio’s commitment to conservation and community heritage.
