SUMMARY:Kennedy Center Summer Institute
DESCRIPTION:Join us for another outstanding season of Professional Development! \nThe Mansfield Kennedy Center Partners in Education Team is proud to offer high-quality professional learning designed to support local school systems. This year’s two-day Summer Professional Development Institute is open to all area teachers and school administrators\, offering an energizing opportunity to earn contact hours toward Continuing Education Credits (CEUs). \nWorkshops will be held at the Renaissance Theatre on 6th\, with primary grade workshops presented from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm for kindergarten through 2nd grade teachers; and intermediate grade workshops held from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm for 3rd-8th grade teachers.  During sessions\, teachers will explore ways in which they can integrate the arts into their curriculum\, discover strategies to create accessible\, engaging lessons\, and participate in hands-on sessions designed to inspire and empower–all while collaborating with fellow educators! \nContact hour verification for CEUs are available for participants. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is designed to support local school systems by providing professional learning in the arts for teachers. Inducted in 2010\, the Mansfield team is one of less than 100 partnership sites in the nation\, and includes: The Mansfield City Schools\, The Mansfield Art Center\, and The Renaissance Performing Arts Organization. The Ohio 2010 team is generously sponsored by Charles P. Hahn of Cleveland Financial\, with additional funding from the Ohio Arts Council. \nAbout Jerzy Drozd\nJerzy Drozd is the author of the middle-grade graphic novel\, The Inscrutable Doctor Baer and the Case of the Two-Faced Statue. He co-authored the graphic novel Science Comics: Rockets with his wife Anne.
