SUMMARY:VIRTUAL RACE - A Run to Remember 5K/10K & Kids Fun Run
DESCRIPTION:Registration will be open through Sunday\, May 24th\, but you must register by Saturday\, May 9th in order to receive the race packet (t-shirt\, participation military dog tag\, and bib) before Memorial Day. \nWe decided to make this year’s race a virtual run. Together\, we can still honor the memories of our country’s fallen heroes on Memorial Day. The Shelby YMCA will provide you with everything you need for the best race day experience possible. If you sign up by Saturday\, May 9\, 2020\, we will mail you your race t-shirt\, participation military dog tag\, and race bib before Memorial Day weekend to complete your virtual race. Run or walk on your favorite route at your preferred time of day! \nVirtual Timing – Use a smart device to track your time and distance. If you don’t own a smart device\, simply use your car to track the mileage of your route before you run and use any watch to start and stop your time! On the day before the race\, you will receive a link where you can add your race time. This virtual race is just fun\, friendly competition\, so please be honest when you enter your time!  Don’t forget to send us your videos and photos! We will be creating a video to highlight all walkers and runners at the conclusion of the race. We want to see you cross your homemade finish line in your race shirt and bib with your finishing time. If you have a picture of the soldier or person you are honoring\, feel free to hold that up for a photo too! Please send all photos and videos to tyoakum@shelbyymca.org to be included in our highlight video.
